I think there is real potential some one on the south coast push past 30cm

This should be the biggest since 2017 unless something drastically changes. Of course in snowbelt Shawnigan lake, this would just be another thursday ;)

Rubus_Leucodermis wrote: Mon Jan 03, 2022 2:42 pm Sure. There has been modelled for at least a day or two. Issue is, there’s times the temps are too warm for snow on either end that GooFuS is still forecasting there to be snow… or at least there were the last time I looked. Have no trouble believing it’s going to snow with that event, the issue is how much of it falls as rain before it cuts over to snow. Maybe I’ll be wrong again.

Graupel shower moving through here.
I have personally had snow falling at 4-6C. It's strange but it happens.

99% sure that is not in Coquitlam. I've never sen that kind of view of the mountains anywhere in the city. The mountains visible to the north here are Eagle Mountain, Coquitlam Mountain, and Burke Mountain. There are a couple others too, but that one in the pic doesn't look like anything I've seen around here.

18z RGEM shows the potential for some wet snow to mix in with heavier rain showers between 11pm and 7am.

Looks like the cold inversion is off the table. Now a dirty ridge to start and warm and dry afterwards, spring like and no retrogression in the 12z and 18z in the :14clown: range.
Hopefully this doesn't last long and cold rain returns at least, it's LA Nina, I need my fresh pow on Cypress.

The big snow happens overnight which means not much enjoyment from that one.

RGEM has upped the ante. It was the least bullish from my comparisons last night and this morning.

The ECMWF Weeklies shows the warmup and cool down.

Of course it does , snow only happens during graveyard shift, including this Wed night/Thurs event ,lol . I think the only nice daytime snowfall was on Christmas day.
