Our upcoming "arctic" blast has quite the NE component to it... yet another backdoor intrusion.

Climate change is slowing the jet stream and making it buckle more causing more extremes. Seems that is what is happening now. I guess we are the ones in the cold spot now.

Another rainbow picture from near Revelstoke but on Monday. Also visible is smoke from a truck trailer that was on fire. I got to hang out near the lake for 40 minutes while the truck trailer burned.

We will get a legit arctic blast in December or January. The cold will come down directly from the North. When the outflow rushes in, the temperature will not warm. Many moisture laden lows will stall and we will be stuck in an offshore flow for days dropping 20-30 cm each event. This winter will rival all recent winters. Trust me, this one is going to be great! 8-) :D
