December 1964 shows 90cm of snow at YVR. January 1965 shows 45cm.

I’ll take a repeat of that winter!
Snowiest December ever @YVR (records back to 1937).

Was the perfect combination of brutally cold air to the north with mild air to the south leaving us in the sweet spot for a historically long snowy period.

I believe Prince Rupert recorded their coldest December on record while areas to the south such as Portland didn't see much in the way of snow.

Will tomorrow be our last 20° day of the year? That's if EC's forecast comes true.

The El Nino from last winter and spring is officially over. Forecasters predict a high likelihood of a neutral signal or perhaps a weak La Nina in the equator region of the Pacific this coming winter.

We have a shot to at least tie the record and possibly beat it.

1985 and 1964/65.... great analogs have presented themselves lately.
