Re: September 2019 Forecasts and Discussions
The models showing cold Western troughs the last several weeks have been pretty accurate. The one that comes to mind was the one that brought heavy snow to northern BC in August of all months. Let's hope the models nail this one too AND THIS PATTERN LOCKS right thru to Jan. We can Dream butties.

Gotta take it as a good sign moving forward, given the groundbreaking #patternlock theory that originated from these humble message boards.Hawk wrote: ↑Sat Sep 21, 2019 7:49 am The models showing cold Western troughs the last several weeks have been pretty accurate. I wouldn't mind an early spring if it meant January reclaims its spot as a winter month.Hawk wrote: ↑Sat Sep 21, 2019 7:49 am The models showing cold Western troughs the last several weeks have been pretty accurate. Re: September 2019 Forecasts and Discussions
I'm actually getting tired of these recent February blasts. We need one in December or January during the coldest parts of winter.

We're possibly dropping below 6C in Vancouver! Also thickness dropping to low to mid 530s.

Re: September 2019 Forecasts and Discussions
12z showed this nicely. FWIW if this pattern had occurred in Dec/Jan it would likely be a classic rain to snow transition ahead of the arctic front.

Re: September 2019 Forecasts and Discussions
Its really a disappointment to see a classic arctic blast pattern set up in September/October timeframe.
