I'd trust mesoscale at this point. Especially as GFS is all alone.

I take a snowmobile on ~5" of ice, on a eeeeeeuge Lake. I'm sure 6" is more than enough to walk onTypeing3 wrote: ↑Wed Dec 29, 2021 1:00 pm Looks like people are walking on trout lake despite the "warning: thin ice signs" put up by the city.
This is what happened many times in the past too (70s, 80s, 90s). As I mentioned yesterday, I doubt the ice was >6" thick on lost lagoon in early January 1974 (go through the old data and check the temps from this period) but there's footage of kids skating on it nonetheless.
January 2025 incoming..looks like more Pineapples..Happy New Year!

Re: December 2021 Forecasts And Discussions
I love getting 1-2 days of those +17C days where you finally crave summer only to look at the models and see a massive trough locking into our region and bringing wave after wave of +7C daytime showers and nightime +2C slush.Weather101 wrote: ↑Wed Dec 29, 2021 3:22 pm Did someone mention pollen? Tell em Storm!!
Lets have some more positive snow total thoughts here. The models have been way low on many occasions already. Daaaaa. Who cares what they say. Most have no clue as amounts vary wildly from one area to another.
