Not as impressive...got down to 1.7C on the 23rd and 24th (New Westminster).

At the old Vancouver station though...it dipped to 0C for three straight nights from the 23rd thru 25th

Another cold spell in 1919 featured a high of 8.9C on the 30th!

Maybe wind? Shawnigan dropped to -3.9C with that cold snap. 3 consecutive nights below freezing

Following up on that 1919 cold spell at the end of September...the last 7 days of October that year all featured highs below 8C with lows all near or below freezing. Also received nearly 8cm of snow on the 27th and 28th.

Edit: a cold December that year too...first half of the month was frigid with most days averaging below freezing.

Too bad the following winter wasn't as historic as that early season cold snap. Pretty uneventful winter overall

Following up on this winter... January stands out. We were in an ice box for the first half of the month. 11 straight days below freezing including six which averaged below -10C.

Congrats Monty!

Analog time.... what was the winter like when your first child was born?

My family will grow to 3 in 5-6 months, depending on if it comes early or not. I do not know how I feel about wanting lots of snow in February as that will be the start of the end of this pregnancy. Don't want to drive to the hospital in a blizzard!

Why not Stuffy? Think of the stories you could tell your child when they get older!
