Following up on that 1919 cold spell at the end of September...the last 7 days of October that year all featured highs below 8C with lows all near or below freezing. Also received nearly 8cm of snow on the 27th and 28th.
Edit: a cold December that year too...first half of the month was frigid with most days averaging below freezing.

Just looking at some past records for early cold...and wow 1908 really stands out. Lows of -1.1C on Sept 24th and 25th that year at the old New West station. Crazy stuff.
Following up on this winter... January stands out. We were in an ice box for the first half of the month. 11 straight days below freezing including six which averaged below -10C.

There could be some late night analysis from me this winter, not sure how good it’ll be. But our family will be growing to 4 in just a couple more weeks. And I often do the night time bottle feeding.
Congrats Monty!
Analog time.... what was the winter like when your first child was born?

My family will grow to 3 in 5-6 months, depending on if it comes early or not. I do not know how I feel about wanting lots of snow in February as that will be the start of the end of this pregnancy. Don't want to drive to the hospital in a blizzard!

Why not Stuffy? Think of the stories you could tell your child when they get older!
