I find it odd that EC would only suggest 5-10cm(while mentioning there could be more), while wording the forecast with "Snow at times Heavy" at the same time. To me this looks like a classic 10-20cms, with 20cms in the lucky spots. Catnip Hill looks to score another strike. Pornoman also looks to score again :lol: :lol:
January 2025 incoming..looks like more Pineapples..Happy New Year! :think:

Hawk wrote: Wed Dec 29, 2021 5:58 am Do you guys realize that we very well could be currently living in the next weather extreme event(by todays standards)? This is shaping up to be a very cold period for ~14 days. This time, maybe it just keeps going on. The warm up has already been watered wayyyyy down lol. Looks like places such as Squ and Hope wont even change over. But what if that extends to all coastal areas except shore/beach/SL people? :shock: :shock:
OMG wuta run this would be. Repeated snow attacks from the north with no changeover in sight. Is this even possible? :think:
These are unprecedented times hawk!!!

@Goose
Maybe when this month ends you can let us know what the mean temperature was for the month of December. I think it's going to come in quite cool, especially compared to the last few years
Edit. Nm you will probably post that anyways :thumbup:

Looking at Abbotsford the monthly mean for December will probably come in close to December 2008. I doubt we end up as cool as December 2016. So coldest December in 5 years.

After a brief warming trend through the night temperatures and dew points are dropping again from hope to Abby. I doubt we will get above zero at all this weekend. Not if the wind stays east any way. Does anyone know if we get south wind in the valley at all?

Komo

The cold air finally moderates this weekend with daytime temperatures nearing 40 degrees, which will feel like a little mini heatwave! Light snow early Saturday morning quickly transitions to all rain as a warmer south wind erodes the arctic air.

-11.1°C after a low of -11.2 here. -8.8°C after a low of -11.0 at YVR. Third straight night below -10.

First time this cold snap I’ve beat YVR.
It's called clown range for a reason.
