Hope has warmed almost continually since 8 am. Their high was at 10 pm this evening, but it looks like they may have finally levelled off.

What year was it when YVR was like -11 I think like maybe 2011 ? Or -10 and EC showed rain and a warmup to like above freezing and everyone thought no way the cold will be kicked out that easy. Well it did lol. Climate here is really interesting to say the least. I could be completely wrong but I do remember YVR was at least around double digits.

Hmmm 2011? I don't think YVR dropped below -10c that year. We did have a fairly notable late February arctic blast that culminated with a decent dump of snow that year.

I do remember the winter storm warning epic fail in December 2009 when EC predicted 30-50cm for Metro Vancouver (after a week of chilly/mostly dry conditions) and all we got was a bit of slush followed by pineapples.

What was the temperature for YVR during 2009? Lowest it go to? That could be the year.I don’t know why but my memory keeps going to it be around -8 to -10

-6.3c in December 2009.

You could be thinking of January 2012. We had a decent bout of snow and cold for a few days. Temps remained below freezing for two days at YVR, dipping to -8c. But it was followed by a quick warmup with barely any overrunning snow.

Interesting don't recall that one either Teeth, l think cause Jan/11, epic fail clouded everything before that.
I'll never forget one event Dec 1998, l was living in Poco at the time we had gone into an Arctic blast around Dec 20th or so, l believe the night of December 23rd there was a snowfall warning up for heavy snow it wasn't supposed to turn to rain well it did by late morning on the 24tn. I still remember the day before hearing Mark Madryga saying it would stay all snow we ended up with a good 25cm to 30cm. I remember going over Coquitlam Centre for some last minute Christmas shopping and feeling bumped out it had turned to rain, we had a white Christmas albiet a very wet and slushy one.
Edit: it was Dec/98 l looked it up says YVR had 20cm on the 24th and 20cm on the 25th. :o
