I'd seen that which is what made me wonder. I wasn't sure if there was anything more recent and local.Forrest Gump wrote: ↑Tue Aug 27, 2019 10:16 pm B.C. winter forecast: Environment Canada gives forecast for the frosty season
Winter is coming – but not for quite a while.
With that in mind, The Old Farmer’s Almanac...

I find that 80% accurate surprising and wonder how they define it.Catnip wrote: ↑Wed Aug 28, 2019 2:10 pm Not saying I believe in this, but here is what The Old Farmer's Almanac has in store for us this winter.
From Daily Hive:
Make sure to enjoy the last few remaining warm weeks of the year, because the Old Farmer’s Almanac has released its annual long-range winter weather predictions for Canada, and it’s going to be bitterly cold this year.
According to the website, its long-range predictions show weather trends in temperatures and precipitation. Their famous predictions are usually made 18 months in advance and are traditionally 80% accurate.

Ah yes. The "year without summer" clocks in at 10th warmest. Cant imagine how much people would complain if we actually experienced a cool summer.

Re: August 2019 Forecasts and Discussions
Would be nice to see a top 50
Interesting to see that four out of the 10 are in the last 10 years. Also interesting that the hottest is in 1958 by a long shot. So on the one hand you can see global warming the other hand you wouldn’t expect it with 1958 being so hot

Re: August 2019 Forecasts and Discussions
That's funny. My wife planted some zucchinis, tomatoes and squashes. The zucchinis exploded on both sides of the fence even though they were planted on one. The Tomoatoes are just now ballooning! The squash were mislabelled and I have massive ripe pumpkins already!! So I turned around and planted my first crops of lettuce and spinach. Unfortunately bad upkeep on the spinach but my lettuce were extremely successful. We never watered anything This summer has been perfect for gardening.

Yes I noticed that too as I went away several weekends and relied on the periodic rains to keep my garden watered almost every weekend away lol.
