McLeese Lake Fraserview (closed in 2016). The site looks quite good.

Re: Weather stations in BC (photos)
I think that many stations actually move around over the years. This is one. I could be wrong, but it's hard to imagine it being in that exact spot in 1899.Canada Goose wrote: ↑Wed Aug 21, 2019 4:39 pm Ya, what a joke! Record high of 35.6C... at 1283 m and 53°N!
Nevertheless, it's sad the station closed in 2015 after 127 years of records...
Another higher elevation station is Big Creek (1175m), which closed in 1998. Clearly the station was down around 500m in the 1800s because there's no way it could be that warm (I'm guessing down near where Big Creek flows into the Chilcotin River. Not only is the the 38.9C/102F of August 1898 out of this world hot, but an average high of 31 for the month is not possible. Even a low of 9.9C is way above what you'd find at 1175m on the Chilcotin plateau.
Here is another Cariboo station. Spokin Lake is east of Williams Lake and 150 Mile House. 1033 m elevation. Lows of 5C at night would be a warm August. Same would go for Big Creek.

Re: Weather stations in BC (photos)
Good point. But it's miserable to see so many badly located stations.
According to its data, Midway seems to be a good one, but I can't find it in Google.

Yes, at least they've been improving some of their stations. Osoyoos used to register rain every time the sprinklers came on.Canada Goose wrote: ↑Thu Aug 22, 2019 11:42 am Good point. But it's miserable to see so many badly located stations.
Saanichton is a very good location.
EDIT: Although, maybe it a bit too close to the road there...

Pleasant Camp
Bad location (again) but interesting for its 724 cm of snow at only 274 m elevation: http://climat.meteo.gc.ca/climate_norma ... &autofwd=1

Re: Weather stations in BC (photos)
That area gets A lOT of snow! It's the mountain pass and border crossing from Alaska (Haines) to the Yukon.
Further north, here is the weather station at the Yukon, AK border (Beaver Creek, YT)...
Here is Fort St. James, BC. It's on the edge of Stuart Lake (one of the largest lakes in the province) so probably moderated by the water somewhat.
Also, very poor placement of anemometer!
