2021 coupled with the fact that there has been lack of any media outlets reporting anything more than the "possibility" of snow and the forecast mentioning "rain or snow" makes me a tiny bit hopeful. Is it just me, or does it seem like the biggest events always happen when they're aren't reported on?

Though... am sorta surprised that Tyler Hamilton hasn't shared an update yet... he's usually all excited about snow prospects for us.

Yes! That's a good point too, the minute the media hypes it up you know it's not gonna happen...and when they're silent we get buried, or flooded.

And here comes the

I am honestly amazed at this pattern shift. The amount of rain that has fallen and all the flooding, it was like like we had a straw stuck into Hawaii and the exit was the SW of BC.

And now we head into a cool chilly pattern that will bring snow to higher elevations and further inland. What a sudden twist!

Starting tomorrow night we could see snow at all higher elevations from Vancouver to Hope. How this will play out right now is anybody's guess. The ground is saturated, thus ground level temps are still a bit warm to sustain snow cover. It will likely melt almost as fast as it falls. If you can get one clear night or more so you see a nice surface freeze, that would be helpful to keep the snow around a bit.

Sea level? I'm not sure about. Sorry Richmond. But you never know, it is 2021, year of the extremes and unexpected.

I can see higher elevation like the usual places, Burnaby, Surrey, Coquitlam, East Van all seeing snow flurries.

Amounts? Hmmm? A couple of CM for sure if it doesn't melt.
Friday into Sat = 3CM
Sunday = 2CM
Monday? This one is hard. If it doesn indeed snow, you could see 10CM or more.
Tues = Trace to 1CM
Web? Again, this one looks like a 15CM IF it stays cool enough.

This is my observations of what COULD happen according to the current models and cooler air seeping in. I have no idea if the flooding in the Valley will have any negative or positive influence for that local area.

Oh, and Richmond, you will see some overnight wet flurries, so you are not going to be left out completely.

This looks good for the Island as well and surrounding communities.

I'm eagerly awaiting to see what surprises we will see because nothing has been normal in terms of weather this year. I have a feeling you guys in SW BC are going to have a BIG TIME winter this year.
