Not a good pattern if you like Fraser Outflows and bone dry and cold weather.
522 thickness will get the job done in December.

Once it gets within five days I start taking models more seriously. Very seriously if the Euro and GFS are basically on the same page as the three-day mark is approached. 9 or 10 days out is pure clown range.
It's called clown range for a reason.

Bone dry cold > more AR’s.

Plus, there are so many ephemeral ponds now that a dry blast would make for some good skating.

Alternating between snow once per week and cold/bone dry is the best winter combo, imo.

The only thing I worry about with those cold aimasses pouring into the GOA is they can supercharge the jet, especially if they dig too far SW and then set us back to square one. Still, I'll take what the 00z GFS is spitting out any day over never-ending AR events.

Best outdoor skating in Metro Vancouver is probably out in south Surrey at the Serpentine fen, since it doesn't take much for it to freeze over.

Also LM (Nort of Fraser) does really well with this setup. Sliding down the coast. 💰 💰

For sure.

Been a while since we saw a prolonged cold NW flow pattern as is shown on the GFS. Used to be a lot more common.

Eyes on Friday night-Sat for low elevation snow, with Another round of wintery weather Sunday night.

And we have the benefit of cold SST's offshore and a -PDO. Though I'm not sure if a -PDO actually helps us get snow with a cold NW flow. Do you know how much of a factor it is?
