This is why I can't get home along with the malahat closure. Luckily can just wait it out.

Re: November 2021 Forecasts and Discussions
Thinking there must be some mudslides along the base of Burnaby Mtn into Burrard Inlet. The water has very suddenly turned mud brown and seems to be streaming roughly from where they’ve been digging the pipeline tunnel. Wonder if that will affect Wedt Coast Express commuters.
Burnaby Mountain @ 365 m..
Stats? Fresh out of those. But I win anyway. I got all the inches.

Pretty darn close where I was at 76 Ave. Maybe it was at the Bear Creek Bridge. I didn't want to ride that direction as I likely would have been drenched from passing vehicles. Here is the intersection of 76 Ave

Re: November 2021 Forecasts and Discussions
Yes Monty, it's a Davis. I figured it's probably plugged up but it will have to wait until it's safer to go up there and get it. I'm just so choked this happened during this rain event, of all times! Now I have no data for what is a major event.
Okay, I just got off the phone with a friend of mine who was one of the first on scene at the slide south of Lilloet on Highway 99. He says he was about 4 cars away from a minor debris flow. Him and a bunch of people got out of their cars to assess the situation. They were there before the police or any crews. The cops showed up and said they were calling in the GPS coordinates to BC highways and that nobody was getting through. My friend was standing there admiring the guy's truck behind him as he's a big car buff.
Anyway, he says he got a bad feeling and felt suddenly scared to be standing there. So he got into his car to continue to go back to Lilloet and head to Kamloops and get a hotel.
When he was about 10 minutes up the road, the guy in the nice truck came flying up behind him, truck covered in mud up to the antenna, swerving behind him and flashing his lights to get my friend's attention. He pulled over and the guys starts yelling, "the whole mountain came down! It all came down and all I could do is call 911! Everyone is GONE. Cars...people...all gone. And we can't go back, there's nothing we can do!" The guy was traumatized.
Basically, I am hoping this guy isn't right or somehow misconstrued what happened because if he's correct, there may be a bunch of dead people in the slide on Highway 99.
