Even for YXX it could be a 400 mm monthly total. Been a few years since we had one of those.

I wouldn’t be surprised if one of the favoured upslope stations around the lower mainland ends up with 200mm by Monday. This thing is looking juicy.

January 2020? Shawnigan lake went well over 400mm that month. Which is very rare.

Re: November 2021 Forecasts and Discussions
We've sure had plenty of November-like Januaries in recent times. Mild and extremely wet.

Re: November 2021 Forecasts and Discussions
Seems like there's more of a westerly component to this AR event, at least to start. Hence why the valley is likely gonna get slammed.

360 mm that month. I think the storm track was a bit further south that month.

I am pleasantly surprised to see snow falling on the local mountains currently. Looks like 5 cm so far. I was expecting all rain.

More than just the periphery, according to the map you posted earlier. I marked 33rd and Knight with a red dot. Kensington Community Centre is at a little over 100 m elevation. I’m cautiously optimistic about it being a better-than-average spot for snow, as locations in the city go.Rubus_Leucodermis wrote: ↑Sat Nov 13, 2021 3:29 pm Aaaand it’s going to be Kensington. Just signed a lease on a laneway house near 33rd and Knight, about 90 m elevation.

I'd say the annual average for that area is about 45-50cm. Downtown is probably in the 30-35cm range.

Re: November 2021 Forecasts and Discussions
November record (since 2014 only) is 608.8 mm. It would have been much more in 1990, 1995, 2006 and 2009.
Potentially, we can have a month above 800 mm in Coquitlam.

Re: November 2021 Forecasts and Discussions
I’ve lived in snow zones before. Hopefully I get to relive some old memories. We shall see. Some year, this string of losing winters for Vancouver has to end.
