There has not been a single clown range run this season that has even hinted at an arctic blast with similar intensity to the 1985 event.

Re: November 2021 Forecasts and Discussions
Just a general observation, but I have noticed in winters where we see many AR events often precede major snows and/or a cold snap/arctic blast.wetcoast91 wrote: ↑Tue Nov 09, 2021 8:25 am Lots more stronger storms and AR events too with colder SST. Northern areas in these systems will get walloped with snows. Southern areas get +12C rains.
12Z GFS is really warm and rainy. Lock it in!

Thanks!
Overall it seems like pretty stark decline over the past 130 years or so. Definitely way more of a trend evident compared with Kamloops.

Re: November 2021 Forecasts and Discussions
Mid Dec thru mid Jan would be perfect timing for a pattern like that to set up.
Broad and amplified GOA ridge has staying power. Just need a stronger look to the SE ridge and moved west.

I know we'll throw around those analogues sometimes too but it's more tongue in cheek.Weather101 wrote: ↑Tue Nov 09, 2021 11:17 am Toxic forum. Toxic behaviour. They do it to themselves every year. Then they blame each other lmao it’s really unbelievable how they keep it up.
Some of them are actually serious and set themselves up for huge disappointment year after year.

Re: November 2021 Forecasts and Discussions
We still have 22 days until December. We shall see in December how things are looking. I am generally overall pretty optimistic about our odds this winter, it just seems like everything is stacking in our favour. On the other hand, we only have ~3 more months after that until Cherry Blossom season, so either way WIN WIN.

Re: November 2021 Forecasts and Discussions
Would honestly be pretty funny if we saw another #wintercancel scenario until February, just to see the american forum melt down in December and January... as usual.
