This is by far the wettest SON period since 2016, what happened that year would be easily a win if we got something similar.
This year reminds me of what fall/winter used to be like, rain, rain and more rain. I have small ponds where I used to but haven't in recent years.

It was clear this morning but then I could feel the rain was coming and it got dark and humid and started down pouring with big splats of rain, just like yesterday's hail except it's rain instead and it keeps on coming down. Currently 5.1c down from a high of almost 7c.

This winter has big potential to be epic but it could also fail. Time will tell but I am confident we will see at least one memorable cold and snowy period either in December or January.

7cm of snow on Cypress so far. I am going up tomorrow and the winter tires are going on tonight. If anyone needs 225/65/R17 winters on rims with 114.5 bolt pattern at 50% wear let me know. I have 2 sets for 1 car at the moment.
Why not try cycling to work, grocery store, anywhere!

Feeling similarly confident. I remember last year and I was more hopeful than confident. I think just seeing something tangible like an old school September to November period makes a difference.

If we are to get warm rains, let's get them now. Same thing happened in 2016 right before the ridging period.

18z GFS gets a bit interesting day 10-13. A bit of modified arctic air settles into the interior and trickles out to the coast. A couple chilly days followed by an overrunning event.
