It's been windy here this morning but seems to have calmed down right now. No branches down and the leaves are still hanging on tight to the alder trees.

Peak gusts so far today 63 km/h at KBLI, 68 km/h in my neighborhood. Sort of a surprise to have my (lower, somewhat sheltered) neighborhood sensor read higher. Seems to have quieted a bit in the past hour.
It's called clown range for a reason.

What are the AB and SK October records? Seems likely that at least daily records have fallen across much of the southern Prairies.

This seems too early for a SSW. I'd rather see one in mid-late November so we can hopefully see the arctic effects in December.

For the sake of our winter, I would think we would want the SSW event to hold off another month but I could be wrong.

After last year, I'm not going to be picky... I just want something better. I had a snow event of a bit more than a dusting like maybe a couple of cm on December 21 and then basically nothing else the rest of the winter.

Welp you have a better chance of picking your nose than picking up snow around these parts.
