Yep, central Coquitlam (especially the Como lake - Mundy Park corridor) always does well. If I were to guess, the annual snowfall average for that area is likely around 70-80cm. The only other residential/built up areas of Metro Vancouver with higher annual averages are Burnaby Mountain and the upper reaches of Westwood Plateau.

Interesting about some parts of East Van doing well in the snow department. Have friends in the area around Commercial Drive and it was already high on the list of neighborhoods to consider. That wouldn’t happen to be one of the more favored areas, would it?

Thanks for mentioning the hiking trails at Burnaby Mountain, Pomoman. I do like the outdoors and proximity to lots of trails sure sounds appealing. No plans to buy anything right away; will rent and see how well it all goes first.
It's called clown range for a reason.

I'm going to say that commercial drive is not one of the favoured snow areas but it makes up for it in cool old houses, nice views and a cool main Street style strip with lots of restaurants. There are increasing issues of security due to the homelessness crisis but that is fairly widespread. Just be careful with your valuables and whatnot.. Commercial has lost some character over the years, but still has some charm left.

I sure hope. Then again, in a climate where mid-40’s is now possible in June, it can’t definitively be ruled out.

Though I would still say “probably not.”

Might get warm and maybe even hot, but I doubt anything over 32C.

I remember I think in 2012 we had temps of 28-32C on Thanksgiving weekend.

Daytime highs were around 22-23c during Thanksgiving weekend 2012, with lows around 2-4c (see Pitt Meadows data to confirm).

We were right at the back end of one of the most significant dry spells in recorded history.

I don't remember the year, but in Abbotsford it was definitely in the upper 20's during Thanksgiving.

Dating back to the 1980s, YXX has recorded temps in the upper 20s on only a handful of occasions during October. Warmest Thanksgiving day I could find was 24.6c in 1988.
