OT. But that’s an ugly track for New Orleans. Big surge to the east of the eye.

In personal news, it’s really looking like I will be moving north soon. Now to find out which siren song is louder: being in a close-in neighborhood (job is in Gastown), or being someplace that tends to score well in the snow department like Burnaby Mountain.
It's called clown range for a reason.

Gastown is insane. Like New York prices. There's a guy here who lives on Burnaby mountain, he went looking for scores last winter but it didn't quite turn out...yet. Honestly there are pockets of East Vancouver that do quite well for snow, on north facing slopes.Rubus_Leucodermis wrote: ↑Thu Aug 26, 2021 3:20 pm In personal news, it’s really looking like I will be moving north soon. This city is unbelievably expensive though, I hope you find a good spot!

Outside of Burnaby Mountain, some of East Van does decently well in the snow department, like PK said.Rubus_Leucodermis wrote: ↑Thu Aug 26, 2021 3:20 pm In personal news, it’s really looking like I will be moving north soon. Metrotown-Edmonds corridor in Burnaby definitely outperforms similar locales to the north and south as well.

Re: August 2021 Forecasts And Discussions
Don't like cold rain...had that reinforced today. My neighbour offered me a downed tree for firewood so of course the day that worked for both of us was the 2nd rainy day in 2 months...but we cut and moved just short of a cord so I will be warm this winter. Just have to split and stack it now.
ps. I like your new seasonal tag line.

Yes. Metrotown is incredible for snow. And not much else...
Upper sections of New West are good too. Really the differences aren't enough to overcome any other advantages in neighbourhoods. But if all else is equal you definitely can choose for snow and realistically get some wins.

Re: August 2021 Forecasts And Discussions
Living on Bby Mtn has its pros and cons for sure. There are some restaurants but hours during COVID are bizarre. Starbucks closes at 230. Lots of places close at 7 for food. But Steve’s Poke Bar, Biercraft, Pho99 are all good. There is a grocery store. But for most things you do have to venture down the mountain. But it’s a quick springboard to Burnaby and Vancouver and to the east. Snow wise I was a bit disappointed BUT we did have scores that others did not, including a good 4 or 5 inches of additional snow than down the hill during our one good snowfall last winter. The views are amazing if you find the right place. The quality of construction is Sh*t though. Do. Not. Buy. If you move up here.Rubus_Leucodermis wrote: ↑Thu Aug 26, 2021 3:20 pm In personal news, it’s really looking like I will be moving north soon. Anyway it is peaceful mostly and lots of hiking trails outside your door. So pros and cons.
Burnaby Mountain @ 365 m..
Stats? Fresh out of those. But I win anyway. I got all the inches.

Didn't they improve the levee's after Katrina but still scary if that track verifies.
