Re: August 2021 Forecasts And Discussions
It can get much much worse (September 2020 for example).
Not sure what he's talking about but the AQI is below 100 all over Vancouver.

It always snows in December in the Kootenays

Re: August 2021 Forecasts And Discussions
I've already kind of forgotten last September but I don't think the surface smoke was as thick since the fires were quite a bit further away. I don't remember feeling as much lung irritation. It's already getting bad in the lungs.Antares wrote: ↑Fri Aug 13, 2021 3:07 pm It can get much much worse (September 2020 for example).

Nearing 200 in some areas with near 300 in the E Valley. This smoke is very bad.

Found a screenshot I took on September 11th last year. Got close to if not more than 200 in Vancouver.

Re: August 2021 Forecasts And Discussions
Made a couple graphs for July/August precip. Doesn't look like there's any major swing either way (seems rather cyclical... for now). Summer rainfall averages were higher in the 70s-90s (see the 10yr avg line) so those who grew up at that time likely feel like summers now are drier.Rubus_Leucodermis wrote: ↑Fri Aug 13, 2021 9:38 am Summers still feel a lot hotter and drier now than I remember them being. Would be curious if there are any discernible trends in midsummer (July-August) precip, or if the dryness is mostly an artifact of warmer temperatures.

Just wasted money on an air purifier! Jk this will happen again and again. Might as well be prepared.

That, plus the hotter summers, must be it.Typeing3 wrote: ↑Fri Aug 13, 2021 4:40 pm Made a couple graphs for July/August precip.
