Depending on how much smoke there is in the interior, expect it to start moving to the coast on Wednesday evening into early Thursday morning.

The GEM was a day or two later. Grasping at straws here.

I'm really curious as to how much smoke arrives. From what I understand, smoke forecasting is very difficult given the many variables.

Do you think it will be as bad as 2017 and 2018?

No way to know until a few days out really. You can have the most favourable conditions, but if there isn't ample smoke available as a source, not much will make it out. Unfortunately, I suspect there will be quite a bit of smoke in the interior.

Even at that, it depends where in the interior and the wind direction.

I think with how plentiful the fires are at this point, any offshore flow will pick up some smoke.

The smoke is unlikely to be as bad as those years unless the interior fires explode again later this week or smoke is brought up from the south. Possible but not the most likely at this point, I think.

850mb temps top out around 24-25C. That’s a pretty typical summer heat wave. Nothing like what we saw in June.

There is a thunderstorm over Howe sounds right now. So
Perhaps it was visible from that.

Interesting that doesn't even show on the weathercan app radar. Our radar coverage really sucks now.
Are they actually repairing the Mt. Sicker site on the island.
