Kinda lousy you can't enjoy a vaca and have to worry more about a near by fire. 🔥
Thanks. Appreciate it. We are ok for now, but the past couple of days the fire has completely gone insane it looked like a mushroom cloud yesterday late afternoon when the wind picked up. Those long range forecasts on the GEM and Euro have the huge ridge centered right over north central BC. That will mean record breaking temps for the Chilcotin if it verifies . Worst news. I hope we get some rain or this region will be like Kamloops-fires everywhere you look.

Cooler temperatures and rain really knocked the fires down a couple of notches and that cleared up most of the smoke.

Another heatwave is pretty much locked in. Begins Tuesday. Wed/Thurs could see temps near 40C. Models diverge after but there is the possibility this lasts through Sunday.

I'm gonna play your favourite climo card and say that this gets dialed down a notch or two.

That only works when it's an arctic blast. The Pacific Ocean is steaming hot.

Were you around earlier this summer when the consensus was that was probably never going to happen again? Fun times..

I was also around in 2015 when many "experts" said the smoke was a rare summer event. This is our new climate. Forests will continue to burn out in BC and we will see many native trees die off along the Coast.

I used to be on the fence, but the truth is undeniable. Our new climate sucks.
