Prince George has had 39.3 mm of rain this month. How does that compare to you guys down the rainforest?

Only if it comes with thunderstorms. As I think the upper level low stays generally offshore.

12Z gfs actually has the flow turning SSE over the weekend that could bring thunderstorms to the south coast.

Definitely an improvement, John. Probably not enough to help with the established fires, but may suppress new ones.

Unless of course that is associated with lightning, then who knows.

Not sure the GFS could be worse tbh. Its exactly like 2017 and 2018. Models flirt with toughing before remembering that it's an endless torch until October.

12Z Euro does show some moisture making it's way into the southern interior on Sunday. Unfortunately, it also comes with lightning.

This is NOT good for central Oregon. Expect to see lots of new fire activity there through the weekend. Lots of lightning around and very little precip.

Well, get ready for more heat. The trough is digging well offshore now. :tiredos:

Unlike 2017 and 2018 this fire season is really concentrated in the southern interior. Even still, it's already the 5th largest on record.
