Awesome pics. Mrs. Bugs looks gross and sad but great shot of the helicopter.

I think it's probably gotten worse. When I arrived in Kamloops I could see the north shore from the Sahali area but by the time I left yesterday morning the smoke had gotten too thick to see down into the valley below. I'd assume it's similar for most of the interior.

How long are you in AB. for?
It's a relatively short trip so not long. I'll be headed to Saskatoon tomorrow and then back west towards Medicine Hat and home via highway 3.

Not sure what to make of these ensembles. Never bad to bet on heat but there are some hints at a shot of rain maybe?

My suggestion is to head north for holidays. Low fire danger and rain in recent day. And no smoke. A friend of mine just headed out for an epic trip to Tuktoyaktuk. 2021 is the perfect year for that.

Massive boom and power flicker here this afternoon about 20 minutes ago. Anyone else notice anything?
My neighbours all came out onto the street but we couldn't see anything. :eh:

Fairly thick smoke around Field (1st pic) but it really cleared up around Banff (2nd pic). More smokey here in Calgary (3rd pic) with lowered visibility but it looks like mostly high elevation stuff and haze and not as bad as the southern interior.

Not sure. It may have been a power line fuse cutout. When those things blow, it makes a really loud bang. Power likely went off somewhere in your area. Happened in my neighborhood during the heat wave.

I would just move north if I could. Still get a chance at winter, bearable summers.
