Lots of oilers fans are pretty pissed at this trade. He's just so old, its a definite risk and Chicago didn't retain salary so on the surface its not something I would want JB to pull. Could well work out though.

Those Oilers fans are in denial. The only way Chicago was going to retain salary was for another asset. Sometimes you need to take a gamble. Having a top 4 of Nurse, Bear, Keith and Larsson (assuming he resigns) is a pretty decent group. Keith is an upgrade over Jones. He just wasn't taking the next step. Yes, you add salary, but you're also going to get LITR relief from Klefbom and we're probably going to buy out Neal. The cap hit is a risk worth taking in this case.

Stars fans really liked him. I think on the surface its a good trade. This years draft is such a crapshoot its not as big a deal as in a deep draft. And that 3C position needs better quality, Brandon Sutter was such garbage there with his lack of offense and physical play. I'm so glad they let him go.

And on another note towards Biteman's favoritism towards U.S. markets.
Vegas is except from the Kraken's expansion draft and how the hell do they pick 2nd in the entry level draft what a joke so teams like the Knuckles continue to be bottom feeder teams.
Although l do hope they take Holtby off our hands but l doubt it.

JB is going all in and hoping OEL is the answer. I hope he's right. Our defense has talent but still seems to lack some toughness and defensiveness. Not sure what he's going to do about the cap either. Its pretty apparent he's not a master planner and kind of flies by the seat of his pants. I just hope that we do some damage next year because this isn't a long term plan.
