Looks like Mark Madryga not the only meteorologist who thinks the recent record heat wave was a once in a lifetime event.

To be honest, nobody has anyway of knowing whether or not the heat wave was a once in a lifetime event. It was certainly an extreme event and therefore, there we may never experience anything like it again. But we have no way of knowing that. The weather will do what it's going to do. Apart from the fact that it was the most extreme event in history, it's just speculation.

The other Vancouver station was also hotter in July 2009.... Vancouver Harbour CS. Of course, you might be thinking, "ah, but Deadman's Island is even worse!"

Well, at least it's not Sand Heads or Point Atkinson!

I can assure you it is not proofread at all. WeatherBell snarfs in the raw numeric data, feeds it into automated programs, and generates graphics from it. The process is entirely automated.

They call the output of model runs model guidance for a reason. That is all it is: guidance. Forecasts are still issued by humans.
