Yup. It sounds like indoor dining is coming back based on hints from John Horgan. Back to work for me. :D 8-)

Yes. Honestly, its been really nice. I love having a drink out in the nice summer sun. I love that the crops are growing early and that the mud is gone here.

But as always, the lack of precipitation affects our air quality and health. This has happened 4 out of the last 6 summers (15', 17', 18' and 20'). I truly hope that this summer doesn't become another casualty of climate change. We need some timely precipitation to fend off the fires and smoke. So far, its looking fairly grim. I don't want another record cold June, but I do want to see the balance and variance that makes our climate so fantastic for being outdoors. I would hate to have to hide indoors again for another 2 weeks because breathing the air literally makes me sick.

Unbelievable, Kelowna has had just 31.1 mm of precipitation year to date!!! The normal for January through May is 141 mm.

Here's Kelowna's outlook. Actually not that bad for chances of precipitation in the next week.

When I was up there at Easter, it was obvious how exceptionally dry the valley floor was. I grew up there and moved to the Lower Mainland in '04. I think the closest analogs would be the first half of the years '92, '94, and '03. I think the period September '91 - May '92 was drier than this.

If we follow the '92 script we'll be in for a very good winter.
