Most people who claim the virus is fake are obvious attention seekers on the internet, who get way more press than they ever would if they were walking around on the street. Perhaps you should take a break from twitter or reddit if it's affecting you so much.

Regardless, I've heard the NHL still intends to complete the 56-game schedule this season rather than shutting down and moving to a points per game format to gauge who qualifies for the playoffs.

Thanks for the condescension! Needed that. (I don't actually go on twitter much at all because it would absolutely affect me, most likely because of the way it has changed our society and the way we converse with each other.)

Also, yes they are making news walking on the street with another rally yesterday. And they are hosting parties, they are harassing employees at their place of work, and they are causing people grief on top of the stress they are already experiencing. Most importantly, they are going to places like Whistler, grabbing a batch of P1 and kindly sharing it with the rest of us. If that doesn't bother you, I'm honestly a little bit envious. It really pisses me off. This pandemic could be largely a non issue if we weren't so caught up with defending our individual freedoms, which wouldn't exist without sacrifices like the ones we should be making.

Wasn't trying to be condescending. You stated in another post recently regarding digging through many corners on the internet so I apologize if I offended you.

So I'm assuming you talked to all these people on the street at rallies, hosting parties or harassing employees, and they all said they don't believe covid exists? How about we realize you can participate in a rally against lockdowns or masking, or host a party while still acknowledging the existence of the virus. Instead, we see too much blanketing of everyone in the same cloth who may not completely agree with the government/media narrative which ultimately only creates more conflict. It's much better to have a discussion with people you may not agree with based on their perceived beliefs rather than jumping to conclusions and painting them under the same brush as groups you may dislike.

Regarding individual freedoms... those are fundamental in a democracy. I surely hope we don't go down the same path as the UK, where the government is currently attempting to pass through a bill making protests "that cause nuisance" illegal.

I'll agree with you on that. Protests are important. I went to the protests in 2014 at Burnaby mountain. I saw some stupid stuff that I knew most certainly would erode the message of the protest. The presence of anarchists specifically, trying to fight the police and cause chaos. The media jumped on that and rode it.

I'm all for protesting actual government or corporate tyranny. But that's not what this is. Government stupidity, lack of prep, lack of foresight yes. I would go protest their lack of foresight, because honestly it's sad.

But there is no tyranny happening. In some cases, the citizens let each other down. There are people who don't want to sacrifice anything for the greater good. And that is leading to lockdowns.

I need to restate that individual liberty is incredibly important. But that's not what's at risk here. The individual liberties we have are because of major sacrifices made in the past. Sometimes sacrifices lead to a better outcome. I don't think wearing a mask and limiting contacts is such a big ask that it should lead to this.

Geesh just read a report that some of the Canukle players are quite ill with the Brazilian variant. Apparently the team doctor visited some players houses to administer iv. scary sheet. Also they may end up with half there AHL affiliate players subbing if play resumes after their quarantine. :o

Why no response from John this should be right up his alley. I must say Mr. Kells and T3 you both have outstanding points of view.

Thank you Sardis. Its an emotional time for a lot of people. Hopefully the Canucks situation will make some people realize that this situation is a lot more serious then it was even a couple of weeks ago. Some of the players are on Intravenous right now, although who knows if thats just out of precaution, lets hope so.

If I was the NHL I would be very nervous right now. Another team or two picking up covid could really hamper their season just as its ramping up to the playoffs. Maybe they will find themselves in another playoff bubble situation which I'm guessing they badly want to avoid.

Will any Canucks have lasting effects?

That being said what makes them so important that they can play hockey and do whatever and I can’t see my grandkids

Wow, can't believe he's still playing.

He's definitely in the top 10 best players of all time. Best European player ever in the NHL, imo.

Honestly John I can't disagree. I've seen the argument that hockey giving people something to do is good for mental health but those people definitely aren't Canucks fans. Also I just read its apparently not P1 variant so shame on me for getting fooled by the media hype. The reporting on this has definitely been all over the map.

Ok it is a variant of concern. Regardless they will probably all come out of it ok. The players that is. We will find out soon enough.

Btw. John I've said some Sh*tty things this year but I sincerely hope you get to see your grandkids soon. That really sucks. Maybe this wave will fizzle right out soon and everything will be fine.
