I was at Sun Peaks for 3 days in January. Didn't seem like a lot this year... unlike Silver Star.

Not only below normal, but record low snowpack in Revelstoke over this past winter. It's really strange, we've been dry and warm, and yet somehow they tell us the snowpack is above normal.

BTW, Kamloops averages more snow depth than Calgary at the height of winter!

Interesting... but the graphics don't appear to match, unless I'm interpreting something incorrectly. Should the second image say "average", instead of "average peak"?

Ya, the second is not really related to the first. I've updated the language to make it more clear. There's a difference between:
1) the average snow depth (snow depth each day divided by the number of days in a year),
2) the average peak (the peak each year divided by the number of years),
3) and the average snow depth at the highest time year, or the perhaps better explained as the amount of snow on the day with the highest daily average (that I'm trying to show with this graph).

For example, for Vancouver,
1) the average daily amount = 0.26 cm
2) the average peak = 13.7 cm (this is the average of all the points on the first graph)
3) the highest daily amount's average = 3.0 cm

It's quite amazing how Alberta cities get their deepest snow depths in late March, April and May. Eg. Lethbridge.

Fun fact: Whistler doesn't actually get a lot of snow. Even places in the interior at LOWER elevations get more snow. eg. Mica Creek!

I did that Lake last summer, and it is an absolutely gorgeous place. I seem to recall the winter route is slightly different.
