Statements
6:46 PM ADT Saturday 06 April 2019
Special weather statement in effect for:

Halifax Metro and Halifax County West
Significant snowfall to affect portions of the province on Monday and Monday night.

A low pressure system from the Great Lakes on Monday will track southeastward to lie south of Nova Scotia by Tuesday morning. Snow is expected to develop over western Nova Scotia Monday morning and slowly progress eastward to reach eastern regions that evening. Southwestern regions may see a change over to pellets or freezing rain and then to rain briefly before precipitation ends Tuesday morning.

Total snowfall amounts exceeding 15 cm are possible. Strong southeasterly winds could also reduce visibilities in blowing snow Monday afternoon and evening.

Travel may become difficult due to rapidly accumulating snow and reduced visibility.

Please continue to monitor alerts and forecasts issued by Environment Canada. To report severe weather, send an email to NSstorm@canada.ca or tweet reports using #NSStorm.

Some wind today, nothing serious though, Harbour Air was still flying, sent a box of chicks to Nanaimo. A bit of fun at the first farmer's market of the year, a couple of the tents flew over, all the regulars were fine, they were all standing around with one arm holding on. Sure happy I was just walking through and visiting, I would have frozen if I'd been there any longer.

Ladner has been like WR; we've had drizzle at best, was mixed sun and cloud here most of the day but my son said it was heavy rain near the Burnaby New West border when he dropped his gf off for a class yesterday

Snow levels are much too high over here for any appreciable snow over the North Shore. Just 3cm over the past seven days at both Grouse and Seymour.

Snow will begin Monday morning over southwestern Nova Scotia and spread eastward throughout the day reaching northern parts of the province Monday evening. Over southwestern Nova Scotia the snow will changeover to ice pellets and freezing rain before tapering off to showers Tuesday morning. For Halifax, the valley and south shore areas the precipitation will remain as snow throughout event with the possibility of ice pellets developing overnight Monday night. Snowfall amounts of 15 cm are expected by Tuesday morning.

Conditions will improve on Tuesday with the snow tapering off due to the departure of the storm.

I'll believe it when I see it. If it's anything like this past week there will be plenty of dry stretches . Or maybe you should move to the sunshine triangle of Ladner Tsawwassen White Rock. ;) 8-)
