I hate the Leafs, but they look good. They’ve finally figured out how to back check. Jumbo Joe’s leadership is paying off.

My prediction at the beginning of the year was the leafs were going to win the Cup, and I'm sticking with it until they're out of the playoffs.

The last time they won there was only 6 teams in the league and their 42 year old goalie (Johnny Bower) wasn't even wearing a mask. That was 53 years ago, and they haven't even made the finals, let alone won the cup since.

Leafs are good. They will win the cup. You've heard it here first.

P.S. Joe Thornton is 8th all time for most games played...

Darryl Sittler + Ian Turnbull > Joe Thornton in games and points :shifty: :P

Another interesting stat , Sittler still holds NHL record for most points in a single game ,12. Turnbull still holds NHL record for most goals in a single game by a defenseman, 5.

I'm sure you already know this.

l remember that 12 point night for Sittler, it was a HNIC game against the big bad Bruins l believe. I also recall Sittler was the big talk about being traded. Before his 12 point game, but l'm sure Ice man already knew that as well.

JV and the Canucks ahead 3-1 on the Leafs. We might watch them blow it but its a nice feeling for now.

I actually take a few positives from our crap season so far.

- Demko. Legit starting goalie. Those don't grow on trees. contract is up at the end of the season though.
- Hoglander. Awesome season so far. This guy could be Jannik Hansen 2.0 or he could be something even better.
- Boeser showing his rookie season wasn't a fluke, his shot is back.
- Juolevi can play. Coach needs to put him in more.
- Prospects are looking good! Podkolzin is playing centre now on SKA and he has 2 goals in 2 playoff games. Looking like a potential core piece. Rathbone is racking up points in the young ahl season. Apparently Woo has looked good which is huge.

Hopefully these things continue and our struggling PP can find its form.

Demko hasn't been any better than Holtby, until his last 2 or 3 games. Let's hope he gets his playoff mojo back. Haven't paid much attention to farm team, hopefully Woo shows some promise, Romanov was taken by Montreal right after Woo and has already made the team and making an impact on the back end.

Back in my day you would pitch Woo to your girlfriend and hoped her father wouldn't catch you and tie you to the back end of a horse.

Now why would the Lamers bring Darryl Sutter back again as coach? I know he had success with the L.A. Queens but still. :? they have a thing with Sutters it appears. :wtf:
