Where's my snow??? Just drizzling here and Snowfall warning is still up.
+3.0 somehow I doubt it's going to snow.

I remember. Decent little cold snap. Nice modified arctic frontTypeing3 wrote: ↑Mon Feb 15, 2021 1:00 pm At this point, I'd rather winter '14-15 over this one.
Arctic front on Nov 28, 2014 was very dynamic if any of you guys remember that one... dropped temps from 12/13c in the afternoon to -5c by morning with snow (about 5-6cm) for a couple hours, followed by a couple clear subfreezing days.

All those events delivered something to the region but I was talking about significant accumulations of 4 inches plus region wide.

Re: February 2021 Forecasts and Discussions
In the past few years, most major cities across the PNW have had a top tier (in the top 10) snowstorm in their respective recorded history's.
Portland (January 2017)
Eugene (February 2019)
Salem (February 2014)
Medford (January 2017)
Victoria (February 2019)
Seattle (February 2021)
Vancouver or Abbotsford? Nope.

I believe 850s dropped lower with that event than what we just saw this past week.

Feb 2019 and 2017. Both recent regionwide 4"+ snowfalls.South Island wrote: ↑Mon Feb 15, 2021 1:15 pm All those events delivered something to the region but I was talking about significant accumulations of 4 inches plus region wide.

Re: February 2021 Forecasts and Discussions
I believe some of Portland got shafted during feb 2019 and don’t believe there was a true regional event in 2017.
Regardless I was just trying to point out this was not a run of the mill event for places south of the LM.

Re: February 2021 Forecasts and Discussions
You were saying Bellingham to Portland for this event qualified as regional. Feb 2017 and 2019 were Olympia to Vancouver events. Same thing really... minus one area.South Island wrote: ↑Mon Feb 15, 2021 1:27 pm I believe some of Portland got shafted during feb 2019 and don’t believe there was a true regional event in 2017.

Seattle scored big in Feb. 2019, too. It was their second snowiest February on record.Typeing3 wrote: ↑Mon Feb 15, 2021 1:17 pm In the past few years, most major cities across the PNW have had a top tier (in the top 10) snowstorm in their respective recorded history's.

Re: February 2021 Forecasts and Discussions
January 2020 was great for north of Everett . Seatac didn't even get an inch. This storm had 6 plus inches from Bellingham to Portland. I thought Vancouver got at least five inches but I was misspoken.Rubus_Leucodermis wrote: ↑Mon Feb 15, 2021 1:08 pm Some people up this way didn’t even get 10 cm. Was not a very memorable event for them.
How did you feel about January 2020?

Re: February 2021 Forecasts and Discussions
I'm actually not sure. Though I'm pretty sure they struggled to get much last -10c (think they got closer to -13/14c in Nov 2014).
Lower level cold (surface and 925mb) was probably more more significant from an anomaly standpoint with this past event.
