We moved to Vancouver from Montreal in the summer of 69(just like the Bryan Adams song), we lived for a few months in a 4plex on 7th ave and pine street. That summer we walked to Kits beach almost everyday , spent a lot of time at the old salt water kits pool, where the depth of water was dependent on the ocean tide. We then moved to 17th ave and Heather street ,it was at the local park that had tennis courts where I learned and honed my tennis skills at 12 years old with a friend. After a couple of years entered some tournaments and joined the tennis team at Eric Hamber high school.
I guess my brush with fame was when I played 2nd year bantam for kerrisdale minor hockey , had end of year banquet and Gary(suitcase)Smith was there to hand me the MVP trophy. :D Actually I just remembered I got called up to midget for a couple of practices(no games),Mark Taylor, Cyclone Taylor's grandson was on that team , he went on to play a few years for the Philadelphia flyers.
Another memory of kits beach , it was Aug 16, 1977, I was lying on the beach and listening to my transistor radio either cfun or cklg when the stunning announcement came that Elvis Presley had passed away.
No doubt we might have, I use to hang out at Kits pool as well then you might remember the old Molson weather tower it was triangle shaped time/temp./weather forecast, it use to turn sometimes it would stop that would pee'd me off it would say snow I'd get so excited. I could see it from my school Henry Hudson, and from my apartment block I was fascinated by it, we use to hang out the planetarium as well. Showboat as well it was and free had some good acts.
It's the 7th annual 2 old retired geezer's inaccurate snowfall contest

It's because the modification was built like that by someone, so we can't really change it. If something better gets released we could replace it.

*Actually I was checking in the settings and it looks like we could disable the % rating. The thanks by users should still be displayed.
Is that something people want? The % part to be disabled?
Yes that would be o.k. I wouldn't want my dear buddy Gumps to think I was more popular with more stars.

Doesn't matter to me, I was just curious as it seemed almost arbitrary. I've never really paid it much heed but it's been a bit slow

I'd be happy to see it go, it's just more to scroll through and doesn't add any value, imo.

10.9mm here.

Tuesday morning is looking like the only opportunity to bump us above record dry territory. Comox looks like a lock at this point.

I think it can be controlled independently.
*And so it is.. I've turned it off for posts, but it will still appear on the topic list for each topic. Let's see how people like it this way.

Snowed_in wrote: Sat Mar 23, 2019 4:48 pm I thought last April was wet at 123 mm, and it was...but what happened april 2017? 173 mm?? Not to mention March of that year with an incredible 309 mm of precip. That whole spring was whack.
Goes to show that spring precip is pretty much meaningless in preventing wildfires. Both summers were extremely smokey.

True. Although it prevents spring wildfires like fort mac and fsj in 2016. And it gives you a drought buffer if (when) summer is way too dry.

Long range prospects for cold air have dwindled pretty steadily in the past day or two.
