Maybe the skies will somewhat clear tonight? Which would open the door for even lower temps.

It’s a pity they were not measuring snowfalls at that station in 1996 (ill-considered budget cuts). There would probably be at least one entry from December of that year if they had been.

Saw this mentioned on twitter before... estimates ~10-11" fell at SEA on Dec 28th, 1996.

One final check of the snow board for the evening and those lingering snow showers continue to slowly deliver. Now at 20 cm for the day and 26 cm for the season. Anything that falls overnight will go on tomorrow’s totals.

Interesting to see two Jan 1950, Jan 1969 and Nov 1985 entries there. Was very cold with light snow or flurries on those dates at YVR... nothing too crazy.

Significant snowstorm on Dec 31, 1968 though with 31.2cm (12.3in) at YVR.

Edit: Actually we also had a significant snowfall on Jan 26th, 1950. Suspect a lot of it fell overnight so YVR recorded 18cm on the 25th and a further 8.9cm on the 26th.

Cooling down this evening.

Currently -2.5

Too bad the snow stopped. It was starting to stick again around 5:00

Hopefully there are some #surprises coming up tomorrow.

Ended up with about 10cm today. Was tough to get an exact measurement as it was getting a bit wet in the afternoon.

I’m thinking you’re well placed to score tomorrow. You and Pornoman might get a nice dump of snow while most of the rest of us have a slushfest.
