Does less outflow open the door for more snow? Although I think they're calling for outflow to ramp up tonight as it gets ready for battle tonight.

Re: February 2021 Forecasts and Discussions
Cloudy and much warmer than yesterday, -2 with dewpoint -21. Winds have died down today but I say we get crap all for snow accumulations here being too far inland. So not impressed, hoping for a miracle though! What are your thoughts on Squamish getting anything or am I right about being too far inland and the outflow killing chances? Even though the winds have died down a lot!

Re: February 2021 Forecasts and Discussions
Generally speaking, although a small amount is better than none. Yeah, it should ramp up later this evening, but it actually looks to die off almost completely tomorrow afternoon.Forrest Gump wrote: ↑Fri Feb 12, 2021 2:51 pm Does less outflow open the door for more snow? A bit too far north for this one I'm afraid. You might have better luck Sunday night/Monday.Wintergirl wrote: ↑Fri Feb 12, 2021 2:53 pm Cloudy and much warmer than yesterday, -2 with dewpoint -21. I crossed the Fraser today and there was NO evidence of ANY ice flowing anywhere. I think that shot is from a previous year.Typeing3 wrote: ↑Fri Feb 12, 2021 3:20 pm Ice chunks on the Fraser.

Canyon and points north have been very cold for the past week so I'd say it's possible.
Looks like that was shot near the Haney bypass. River is fairly shallow and narrow at that point.

My sister was at the Mission bridge today and took a video. There’s ice on the river.

Abby_wx, go to the Mission bridge and check!
I can't believe there is not one single webcam ANYWHERE on the Fraser river. So pathetic.

It's salt deposits from evaporation and white dust that has settled on top of the drying river.

FWIW, UW Radar looks like it's about 6 hours ahead of the 3km NAM.

Seems to be a dearth of webcams across most areas in metro Vancouver.
Wish they had one at some intersection on the upper part of Westwood plateau so we can check on the snow up there!

How does that compare to the 12z Kuchera?
