Most of the grey will not fall either. Monday may be the regions best shot for snows. Models are getting a smudge colder in the mid range so next week could deliver once the airmass saturates.

Unless it's bringing snow, then it trends everywhere else including Dallas USA. Such BS.

If this trend continues even the south island will lose out on the fun. Just more proof that these dry continental arctic blasts don't produce, especially for the Lower Mainland. So disappointing because if it wasn't so dry, this would be epic region wide low elevation snows.

Off axis troughs into the Pacific over NE BC rarely deliver here. That is a fact. Best scenario for lowland snow in SW BC is a no tilt broadened block. It looks to get there next week on some runs...but with a higher snow level. Could flirt with lowland snow near 100m at times.

One of the few setups that favours Southwestern sections for higher totals..although I probably won’t do as good next week once the cold air begins to scour out. Either way im sure each event will be a nowcast situation as usual

That’s why I don’t like any epic or extreme cold which means all the good stuff always go south and we end up getting nothing, maybe just a few cm of slushy snow at the end of the event as consolation prize or even worse just cold rain.

Arctic blast?? lmao. This is an arctic trickle. -2c from Langley to Coquitlam this am? Wuta Joke.
If the PG High stays put and we get to -14c lows instead, we will get snow. Like Jan 1996 iirc?
January 2025 incoming..looks like more Pineapples..Happy New Year!

Cold temps are out of the picture unless the airmass below decouples with clear skies as well. Persistant winds and cloudcover means very low DP and temps near freezing.

Different story had the PV resided over BC instead of being near Thunder Bay. This is a homegrown arctic airmass thats very dry.

Still impressive that its remaining cold. I'm amazed temps haven't warmed up with the channeling and near-downsloping we are seeing.

Looks like we’ll get some clear breaks this evening before clouds increase early tomorrow morning. Probably our best chance to get some impressive lows (for Mid February at least). I still think we’ll stay below freezing in most areas for 3-4 days straight so thats not too bad considering the time of year.
