Re: February 2021 Forecasts and Discussions
So another mostly dry blast followed by an overrunning slushfest that is gone almost as quickly as it comes. Sigh.
Makes one appreciate how special last January was.

It's called clown range for a reason.

Re: February 2021 Forecasts and Discussions
Judging by the radar, a north/south aligned convergence zone centered somewhere between Aldergrove (Lynden) and Abbotsford (Sumas) seems most likely. Assuming, of course, that it materializes in the first place.LadnerWeather wrote: ↑Wed Feb 10, 2021 8:11 am Let’s hope the convergence sets up over Western sections sometime this morning

That surface Low WNW of Van isle is enhancing cloud cover. Will it throw some surprise precip into our area today. Timing looks good. Hopefully it heads SE

Its tapered off to very light but it was definitely accumulating for a couple minutes. We'll see where it goes.
And lets not write the obituary for this event yet. Models traditionally like to scour out the cold too fast. Especially such a deep continental airmass like this one. So that event could stay snow for a lot longer than modelled. Could go one of many ways. The GFS is not even close to leading the way here.

Re: February 2021 Forecasts and Discussions
Ya looks like flow is starting to converge over those areas currently although it could move west later this morning as outflow start to increase. It’ll be interesting to see if those little cells popping up become more organized/enhanced before it dries out laterRubus_Leucodermis wrote: ↑Wed Feb 10, 2021 8:15 am Judging by the radar, a north/south aligned convergence zone centered somewhere between Aldergrove (Lynden) and Abbotsford (Sumas) seems most likely. I thought you were in Maple Ridge for some reason. Either way 5 cm seems like a lofty goal.
Light flurries holding steady. A patchy trace so far.

Nice little blue spot over Fort Langley. Looks like they've accumulated a bit from the webcams.

Looks like I got a dusting. The wind was telling. Slight W breeze that shifted E as the flurries started. That was the Arctic front it seems.

Yeah 16 inches here. The GFS isn’t looking bad either but I’d apprciate the RGEM way more
