Max at YXX today was 0C and mine was 1C.
So the Euro has been slightly too warm.

Something to keep in mind when making your predictions in the forecast contest.
For those who may have missed my last post, predict the high/low temps in Vancouver, Abbotsford and Victoria for Wednesday through Saturday. Here's the link to get your predictions in: viewtopic.php?f=111&t=1221
I also included the EC and TWN forecasts as per the 4pm update. TWN always seem to finish dead last in these contests.

Re: February 2021 Forecasts and Discussions
Aaaand, 0ËšC. Freezing again. If it stays clear overnight I could easily see overperforming (underperforming?) with the forecast low tonight.

Should stay relatively clear until midnight or so...then the clouds roll in and the outflow ramps up.Rubus_Leucodermis wrote: ↑Tue Feb 09, 2021 4:35 pm Aaaand, 0ËšC. Below freezing again. If it stays clear overnight I could easily see overperforming (underperforming?) with the forecast low tonight.

Re: February 2021 Forecasts and Discussions
With all that persistent moisture in the strait the last couple of days does anybody think that the outflow will interact with that and cause some significantly higher snowfall totals especially on the East Island?
Never mind what the models say because I dont think they showed that much moisture last 2 days... Did they ?

Question: where is the arctic front now and when will it pass through the Fraser valley? 10 am?

A little layer of ice on the pond survived the day. Hoping for a hard freeze tomorrow or Thursday morning.

Re: February 2021 Forecasts and Discussions
Chalk up another one for EC; this morning it was cloudy with intermittent flurries. The 11:00 am forecast said there was a chance of flurries starting this afternoon. It cleared up right away after that...
