Re: February 2021 Forecasts and Discussions
Looks like Dec 2013 or Feb 2019. Strong PV slides East. Depth of Arctic airmass isnt too impressive over BC but strong Interior high pressure churns out crazy dry air. Jet supression looks very real this time around based on previous runs. Very very low DP with strong outflow and downsloping winds.

Re: February 2021 Forecasts and Discussions
I still think we are looking at a significant winter event.
We just likely won't be as cold as models showed a few days ago. To be expected.

Beats persistant +10C rain with an AK vortex.

A win is when the "downside" is sunshine....

Sure is cloudy now. Wonder if we will get some surprise snow.
It always snows in December in the Kootenays

Re: February 2021 Forecasts and Discussions
Oh I'm just talking about snow potential. I'm not particularly concerned with extreme cold. I've lived in the caribou and okanagan and felt temperatures there that the LM has no chance of achieving.
A 2019 scenario again would suck. Cold and dry is useless to me outside of skating on our pond.

Re: February 2021 Forecasts and Discussions
I'm not so sure it will dry out much this week. Just enough to pump cold air into the region..with multiple snow chances like my buttee WP said!
