Just hedging his bets. We all know the moisture placement is very much undetermined.

Hmm. This is interesting. The 12km NAM does bring some snow across the area from the NNW on Wednesday. The 3km NAM is just at the very end of the run at that time frame, but does show the very beginning of it.

Top five coldest Feb temps at YVR since 1990.

1. -11.1c/Feb 17, 1990
2. -10.7c/Feb 18, 1990
3. -9.9c/Feb 6, 2014
4. -8.8c/Feb 10, 2019 and Feb 8, 2014
5. -8.5c Feb 14, 2019

Those numbers from 1990 will be tough to beat. Airmass wasn't particularly cold but there was over 20cm on the ground after a blizzard in the preceding days dropped 30-50cm across metro vancouver.

Are you sure that's actually YVR and not a weather buoy out in the Strait of Georgia?
It's called clown range for a reason.

Yeah, it is tough to say. It could be YVR or it could be Sandheads in the Strait.

Not 100% sure. Maybe Jr or Bonovox can post the WXbell temp graph for the airport.

Yes and we appreciate the sober mindedness, but sometimes he makes a point of ONLY sharing the bad news. I suppose that is the forum persona/running joke.

Oh well. I can love the pineapple lover even if I don't particularly care for the fruit.
