Storm & all members, can you please link to the gif's rather than upload to our server, they create quite a resource drain on our site (bandwidth, load times..). That gif is just over 3mb for one image. :?

More info: https://forums.bcstorms.ca/app.php/help/faq#f3r3
Use the BBCode [img] tag and copy the url link of the gif from the other sites where you found the gif and put it between the [img] tags.

Wow. Nothing like that here. Maybe 15mm total the past 2 days.

The western lowlands of metro Vancouver got much less rain then expected due to the Olympic rain shadow. Upper coquitlam, usually a top rain spot had a 3 day storm total of only 46.8mm. Almost double in the Valley and to our south near Seattle. Crazy
Not over yet though looking at the satellite and the radar, the heaviest rain could come late this evening and the 18z GFS showed heaviest precip this evening right over Vancouver and the North shore.

I have found the solution to our problem, and I know just the guy for the job.

I've had 94.9mm of rain the past 48 hours. :o

I'm surprised there was no rainfall warning but I guess the meteorologists did not expect the valley to be in the bullseye given its usually not in most cases. Typically the valley is under the rain shadow. There are some cases where we do score here though and this was one of those cases.
