Re: January 2021 Forecasts and Discussions
Another few cms overnight here, snowing lightly and some outflow winds makes it feel wintery. Too bad the weekend looks so wet and a bit too mild for snow

Re: January 2021 Forecasts and Discussions
I believe YVR did report snow falling at one point last night, so technically this can not go down as a 100% snow-free winter there.wetcoast91 wrote: ↑Wed Jan 27, 2021 6:17 am Somehow raining. YVR really making a run at 0cm snow for winter. Could potentially happen with the warmer and drier start to Feb
And that is all that BLI reported. Another trace for me.
It's called clown range for a reason.

Re: January 2021 Forecasts and Discussions
As long as it's not cold rain in Spring, which would be probable. If it's chilly and more sun than cloud that would be fine.wetcoast91 wrote: ↑Wed Jan 27, 2021 7:22 am Model trends look encouraging for this. ECMWF weeklies the other day showed a return to seasonal temperatures to drier conditions for Feb. Cold shifts to Northern Europe and Russia.
Of course I am really worried abour March-May as we know a mild DJF period has historically been followed by a chilly spring. Hoping that's not the case.

I don't know the exact implications, but I would assume more accuracy and higher resolution and faster processing of data.
