Looks like it's even changing to a mix of slop up at SFU.

Re: January 2021 Forecasts and Discussions
Rain had turned to heavy wet snow in parts of Nanaimo and area over the last 30min and temp there is falling. For what its worth. Light very wet snow in Sardis. No snow on ground

At least the latter feels more like winter.wetcoast91 wrote: ↑Sun Jan 24, 2021 6:06 pm Would you rather have +12C with periods of rain or +2C rain and slush?
It's called clown range for a reason.

The bowl is the Sumas flats in Abbotsford. The Arctic fart from the Anus starts at Anis Rd in the Wack and spreads its joy towards Bellingham and Ferndale through South Abbotsford.Pomoman wrote: ↑Sun Jan 24, 2021 5:49 pm Tyler Hamilton has a new video on TWNs Twitter talking about the island and then a bit of the mainland tonight thru Monday. Sounds like he expects northerly winds to drop snow levels on the island tonight but a toilet bowl effect for the mainland to bring southerly winds. Expect rain and slush to continue for lower elevations.
Where there’s a toilet bowl, there must be an anus.

Just a reminder for those who got snow today (which, despite disappointing overall amounts, still was most of us): update your snow totals in the thread for such.

Campbell River is remote?
It always snows in December in the Kootenays

Yep. Would not move there even for snow. If I want snow I will move to Whistler, in fact we were considering moving there a couple of years ago since my company is doing a lot of business up there.

Cumberland on the Island always seems to do well. They used to have a webcam there it was often very nice in Winter. Of course the webcam is gone now.

Re: January 2021 Forecasts and Discussions
Dont think so. Mid layers have warmed up on the LM with the weak southerly flow. Freezing level up near 600m with snow level only dropping to 400-500m at times. It looks like snow up at SFU but it seems to be rain now.
Not a bust. Models were not calling for lowland snow. Chances over the next few days look slim based on recent runs. Cannot rule out some periodic slush with heavy showers...but any accumulations will quickly melt.

That camera tends to show rain looking like snow. Noticed it looked like this when we had +10C rain. Perhaps Pomo can give us an update!
