Re: January 2021 Forecasts and Discussions
Seems like this thing is over for here. I’m hopeful some on the lower mainland can scrape together enough slush tonight so I can see some more snowman pictures. You know the sad ones that are clearly all muddy with grass stuck to them.

I think the snow god Ullr is upset.
I blame that sardine guy.

Looks like ice cold drizzle tonight below 300m. Best dynamics with the low appear to be going into SW Washington. Besides, there isn't any nearby source of cold air to aid in cooling.
Really gross raw weather out there the next few days. I really miss the sun.

I would have been a little more interested in the snow prospects going forward this week if we had a snow base from today. But unless something over performs it’s most likely we are just going to see brief accumulation that will melt off during the day.wetcoast91 wrote: ↑Sun Jan 24, 2021 4:06 pm Looks like ice cold drizzle tonight below 300m. Looks like something is trying to form over the South Island. Maybe that’ll throw some moisture over the mainland tonight.

Yeah, pretty sure there will be no significant snow over the next week except perhaps above 500m.
There is just no cold air to work with. Glad I didn't get fully on board with this snoozefest but the build-up last night was fun.

Re: January 2021 Forecasts and Discussions
Well it’s still snowing at SFU and has not stopped since 4 am. That said I have maybe 5 or 6 cm to account for so this event so far is still less than Dec 21. I guess this is my own personal snowfall warning with another 5 to 10 on the way. EC has snow over higher terrain right through tomorrow night now. Hoping the snow level remains under 300m but honestly it’s not near as much fun when it’s a party of 1.
Burnaby Mountain @ 365 m..
Stats? Fresh out of those. But I win anyway. I got all the inches.

I'm not gonna lie I feel like I got baited really hard and if I don't get any accumulation tonight, I'm throwing in the towel for the season because I want to start gorfing.

Re: January 2021 Forecasts and Discussions
Latest HRRR seems to think most of the mainland could see at least a trace of slush sometime between ~9pm and early tomorrow morning.
Could be some pockets of snow around the region tomorrow with some heavy precip bands

Re: January 2021 Forecasts and Discussions
It has been snowing here lightly since 6am but only about 3 to 4 cms and most melted during day. It is still snowing lightly though now so I would rather watch this out my living room window than rain.
