Good news is this rain should wash away the left over snow so we start fresh next weekend 18C and sunny :)

I’ve never really bought into the, if this were January, line of thinking. The parameters needed for snow aren’t much different now then in the middle of winter. 850mb of -4C and 925mb of 0 to -1C is still mixed rain and snow, even in the middle of winter.

Valid point it is true that if a -PNA and -EPO were to develop in July, it wouldn't get nearly as cold as it would in that pattern during January.
