When is the GEM ever right with precip totals? The GFS and NAM are usually more accurate. Euro tends to have wonky maps that vary a lot across the LM.

I will take it even in cm. But I really don't think it will verify. This winter really sucks, especially for us living by the water. So far I have not seen a single flake on the ground yet. All I got just cold rain, cold rain, and more cold rain. Feb is coming, meaning time is running out.

Great. It’s saved me $60 in heating costs so far. I don’t have to switch to Gieco.

How did your area do in late February 2011 or 2018? Those are some recent examples of fairly prolonged cold snaps with multiple snowfalls across the south coast during the back half of winter.

SWS (Snow Weather Statement)

Snow is expected Saturday night and Sunday morning for Vancouver
Island, Sunshine Coast and Lower Mainland.

A ridge of high pressure over BC will give mainly clear skies and
cool conditions until late Saturday. A low pressure system will
move southward along the coast bringing cloud to the area Saturday
afternoon. Snow is forecast to begin Saturday night and continue into
Sunday. By Sunday afternoon snow will become mixed with rain in many
areas.

Potential snowfall amounts vary from 2 to 5 cm for most of the Lower
Mainland and Sunshine Coast. Eastern and inland areas of Vancouver
Island are most likely to see the highest amounts of snow, with
amounts from 5 to 15 cm.

Are there significant differences in snow amounts between Westwood Plateau, Heritage Mountain, and Burke Mountain?

For the most part, all three are at least 100m in elevations beside a few pockets here and there. But Westwood Plateau is highest, around 350m.

So the question is:

Once you start getting up to 200m elevation, is there really a significant difference between that and 350m?
