So...conceivably we can go from 20+ cm of snow to sunny and 20c sunny days in a matter of a week?
Is the LM the new Calgary?

The weather in the Lower Mainland often does change very suddenly, similar to Calgary. However, what is so impressive about Calgary and SW Alberta is that the temperature can go from -20 to +20 in an hour and vice versa. You can literally have winter and summer back to winter in the same day. Its a really unique weather phenomenon. I experienced it once visiting my aunt and uncle in Calgary. We walked around the Calgary Zoo in the afternoon. It was around 12-13C. A few hour later, the temperature dropped to -20C and by morning it was snowing. Very fascinating.

Lethbridge is also like that but as an added bonus, the chinook winds are usually way stronger and often damaging speeds. Gusts of 90-100+ km/h fairly common. Winds can be so strong that cars get stuck on the Whoop Up bridge and so its often closed during windstorms. I believe Lethbridge is Canada's second windiest city. The Japanese gardens are absolutely stunning there. Went through them when my family went to Lethbridge one summer. We camped at Waterton. We had lots of fun but I was super bummed there was like no wind when we went. Oh well. :D
