The Euro has performed well recently; no reason to favor the GFS which seems to be having a ton of trouble...

Thankfully the Euro is showing the goods for once, instead of GFS, which has been all over the place.
It always snows in December in the Kootenays :clap:

Can probably take those GEM inches and read them as cm given the expected sloppiness, but 10 cm downtown would still be decent

It will be interesting to see this play out. Midday Sunday the Euro has light outflow, surface temps between 1-2c, 925mb temp -2 and 850mb temp between -4 to -5.

Very true. The gfs has been shown time and time again to have accuracy issues at this range. You want to be on team euro.

The GEM usually overdoes things doesn't it? If remember correctly, it was spitting out some pretty impressive snowfalls last winter that never materialized.

I think it does overdo precipitation totals. It will be interesting to see how the mesoscale models handle this.
