Looks like 06Z GFS has switched this weekend to a warning shot down from a main event, at least as of right now. There's still time to put the rug fully under our feet :)

This event has been experiencing death by a thousand cuts. First it shaves away the continental cold, then it slowly cuts away at the longevity of the onshore cold, now its chipping away at snow totals on this initial event and the following event. I'm still feeling like this Sunday to Monday event can produce but I'm sort of questioning if it will last more than 2-3 days with the modelled progression. This winter is a very progressive one. I'm going to predict it stays that way, even if we get another sort of cold blast. If only Alaska could experience the same prolonged torching everyone else seems to be at some point.

Yep I totally agree. It's been very quiet on here lately and that's usually a very bad sign. It's been an ugly 24 hours of models as the event gets closer which is obviously not good.

Looks like you have to move to the Sahara to see snow. Despite only seeing snow 4 times in 42 years the snowfalls have happened in 2017, 2018 and 2021.

Well I hate to toot his horn again but he did say that we would have the warning shots in January...and February is when the cold and snow would come so maybe we just have to wait a little longer? Again the models past 4 or 5 days don't really know what's going to happen let's face it

There’s 12 days left in January so with this kind of thinking the cold could still come in January. 4 days out would still give us a full week of January to score.

Yes there is a chance..same chance we have had for the last 60 days. When it is placed in front of us, then taken away within a few days of the event, it just hurts more. Like PK said, Progressive it is and that fn Aleutian vortex has re emerged again. Could be a decent cold onshore flow with that though...great for the ski hills! Plus, past 5 days, yes, no one knows what will happen. I agree Mr Monty!
Will the snow gods pleeeeease help us!! Time is running out :sorry:

That little system for Thursday has been looking wetter. Perhaps someone will see some flakes in the air.

And it still looks likely a lot of the lower mainland sees accumulating snow later in the weekend- Monday with a stretch of cool dry weather next week.

I hope the models change soon...like Jr. said due to the SSW, the models cant handle it and soon the snow and cold will be here..
